Yesterday saw the launch of the Wales Cyber Safety Bus Tour – a month-long roadshow designed to assist individuals and small businesses throughout Wales to protect themselves whilst online.
The bus – shown here at the Cardiff Bay launch with Welsh cyber lead officer Deputy Chief Constable Pam Kelly from Gwent – will visit all 22 local government authorities in Wales, raising awareness of the issues we all face on the internet and promoting simple steps which everyone can take to reduce the risk of becoming a victim. Funded by the Welsh Government, the tour has been organised and managed by TARIAN – the Regional Organised Crime Unit for Southern Wales – together with the North West Regional Organised Crime Unit. All four Welsh police forces will participate, together with partner agencies including the Welsh Government and ourselves at Get Safe Online to answer any questions and listen to concerns.
The key safety messages delivered on the tour will be in line with that of the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) and the UK National Cyber Security Strategy.
Awareness presentations and table top resilience exercises for businesses and communities can be booked via TARIAN’s Eventbrite pages at https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/o/tarian-18685564725
