Counting the success of Get Safe Online Week

By Tim Mitchell on 31 Oct, 2012

Well, Get Safe Online Week is over for another year - and the team has been tremendously encouraged by the very positive response from the public.

We believe that the media and social media coverage we achieved last week has played a pivotal role in raising awareness of our activities, to say nothing of our physical presence in railway stations, shopping centres, precincts and educational establishments. And, of course, the unmissable Click & Tell coach which covered some 1,500 miles of highways and byways on its journey around the UK.

To many of the people we met en route, there was a discernable sense of relief when they realised that there is a one-stop shop where they can go get unbiased, easy-to-follow advice on keeping safe online. That it's sponsored by HM Government and household names in the private sector. And better still ... that it's FREE!

We will soon get round to thanking our helpers and supporters personally for their contribution to the success of The Week. In the meantime, we're reviewing all of the activity during and around the campaign, and already thinking about ways in which we can make it even better for 2013. And, of course, working on a number of other important new initiatives which will increase our own spread and help various third-party organisations to, in turn, help their customers and stakeholders to continue to enjoy their online experience.
